"bah dee yah, say do you remembaaah... bah dee yah, dancin' in septembaaah... bah dee yah, never was a cloudy dayyyy" -- earth, wind & fire

although it is officially fall, we've got crazy summer weather in socal! september whizzed by so fast -- i can't believe the month is practically over!

month five for the little man in our household marked quite a few milestones! he cut his 4th tooth, learned how to sit, is starting to experiment with a lot of different fruits and is speed crawling (more like dragging his body across the floor, but he's FAST!).

he also took his first trip to disneyland just this past weekend. my company sends all its socal employees to disneyland and california adventure every few years with disney dollars to spend AND a free parking pass, so we thought it'd be fun to take ian even though he wouldn't fully know what was goin on. he did so well that we actually stayed longer than we anticipated!

here are some photos from the past month!

the bouncer he's starting to grow out of... so he likes to play with it standing.

i'm sitting on my own!

it's a little bright in here.

he only wore this robe once and it's too small.

hard at work... or play.

our little mouseketeer.

"well, hello there, mr. potato head."

family photo op!

"k, dad -- quick photo, please. gotta go back to watching the parade."

so happy!

having fun with my pops.

"aw c'mon dad. i'll just have one sip. i promise."

ian loves grandma chung!

oh, the days go by... so fast... too fast

a couple days away from ian's 5 months of life, i find myself reminiscent of the earlier days of babyhood and parenthood. then quickly, dj reminds me that it was harder back then. ian cried a lot more and we wouldn't know why (aside from the usual wet diaper or because of hunger)... and there were a lot of other things that were stressful earlier on.

some of the things we're enjoying these days is watching ian's budding personality. i can't tell who he takes after more, but he's definitely looking more like dad as he gets older (he still has my eyes, though, i think!). his 3rd tooth cut through about 3 weeks ago and he is continuing to drool. he weighs in at a whopping 18 pounds now! it seems like just yesterday when he was 8 pounds light...

he has gotten so big that his bouncy chair is starting to slowly lean back.

touching his feet. he not only touches them, he shoves them in his mouth, too.

squeaky clean after a nice bath.

with his dear friend, huggy bear. does the name sound familiar?

loving the facial massage from grandma chung.

he looks so grown up here. haha... sitting on the couch with the boppy.

and last but not least... ian's classic expression while eating rice cereal. i wonder if it really tastes as terrible as he makes it seem.

in non-baby news, i baked for the first time since ian was born...

oh, red velvets, how i've missed you so...

going back in time...

i wonder what dj and i would've looked like in the 70s...

we might've been one groovy couple.

meet & greet the chung & crawford families

wow, it's been a while since i last updated! we've had some technical difficulties with our computer and i've been wanting to send pictures and update my xanga, but have had to wait this long. therefore, an enormous photo update may be ahead so beware.

weighing in at 15 pounds and sporting a couple of new chompers (his bottom two teeth came in a couple of weeks ago), ian celebrated his 100 days a couple weeks ago and is now nearing his 4th month of life. we are definitely enjoying each day of it! the only thing i'm not enjoying are having to be apart from him since i've gone back to work and the sleepless nights which have increased since i've gone back... which makes for a very sleepy mommy.

ian has had a very busy summer thus far -- meeting both the chungs in oregon and crawfords in minnesota. he did great on his very first flight to the midwest and a very looong 15-hour car drive up to the pacific northwest. he was one busy traveling 2-month-old!

the cousins finally meet! ben is 5 months older than ian.

ian meets grandma & grandpa crawford for the first time...

ian also had the privilege to meet great grandma jane -- who celebrated her 92nd birthday.

mommy & ian...

with the chung family in oregon. now the youngest of the bunch!

having a great time in daddy's office chair.

uhr?

can you see the two little teeth? baby teeth are SHARP!

ian and his 100-day rice cake.

his latest trick -- flipping over from his back to his tummy.

ok, time for this mommy to SLEEP! til next time...
